Successful leadership is more than just being “the boss”. Effective leaders have a mutual trust with their team. They make tough decisions and have hard conversations. True leaders ask the right questions and inspire success in their people. Take your leaders to their full potential and let your teams reach theirs.
Over six half day workshops, your leaders will develop the skills, confidence and motivation to lead your teams to success. Tackling the biggest issues facing todays leaders: Communication, Change, Conflict and Collaboration.
- To recognise your leadership strengths, challenges and style and plan for working with them
- To develop the mindset, skills and techniques required to lead during change
- To develop the ability to recognise other’s strengths, weakness, energisers and stressors, and understand how they affect the work place
- To develop the ability to grow/build effective teams
- To develop techniques that support effective communication within the team, from leadership to the team and with those you collaborate with
To develop the non-cognitive leadership skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead a high performing and engaged team.
Coaching session and assignment presentation:
In addition to the workshops, each of the participants are supported in the application of the learnings through a one-to-one coaching session and a completion assignment. The coaching session gives participants an opportunity to ask questions and develop learning relevant to them and their situation. The assignment asks participants to apply a minimum of two new skills or tools to a workplace issue or project. They are then asked to present back to the group on their progress, learnings and the outcomes.
This programme is for your current leaders of people and those you have identified as emerging leaders. Whether your leaders have two direct reports or twenty, their leadership can be the determining factor in team tone and productivity.
Why six half days?
With 6 half day modules with returns to work in between, participants have a chance to learn, apply, reflect and then learn further. In traditional 1-2 day management training, attendees are given large amounts of knowledge all at once. Whilst is makes logistical sense to have leaders out of the office for only one day, it significantly restricts knowledge retention. Adults typically retain only 10% of what they hear in seminars versus a two thirds retention in learning via real life doing and reflecting*.
You may be eligible for up to 50% of your training investment to be funded by NZTE. For more information on the NZTE capability development voucher please contact us.
The RJA Development Series:
The themes and principles of RJA Leadership parallel those of RJA Team Player but from a leadership perspective. The two programmes are designed to be complementary, due to their integrated nature, but can be run separately.
